Nicolas Jarry recently spent some quality time with his family and explored the beautiful city of Basel ahead of his debut at the Swiss Indoors this week.

Jarry, currently ranked No. 20, is having the best season of his career. He won two clay court titles at the ATP 250 in Santiago and Geneva and reached the quarterfinals or beyond in seven tournaments so far this season.

The 28-year-old is playing for the first time at the Swiss Indoors Basel, an ATP 500 event that features some of the best players in the world, including Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, and Taylor Fritz. Jarry is seeded seventh and will face Adrian Mannarino in the first round on Tuesday.

But before stepping on the court, the Chilean spent some family time and saw the sights of Basel. He was accompanied by his wife Laura, his children Juan and Santiago, and his mother Cecilia. They took the “Leu” ferry, a rope-operated old wooden boat, from Münster to the other side of the Rhine, enjoying the views of the city and its bridges.

Jarry said that having his family close to him was wonderful and meant a lot to him. He also said that he was happy to be in Basel and that he was looking forward to playing at the Swiss Indoors:

"Having my family close is wonderful and means a lot to me. I'm happy to be here and I'm looking forward to playing the Swiss Indoors," Jarry told ATPTour.com.

Jarry posted a few pictures of his family outing on his Instagram account on Monday, October 23.

"Thank you ATP tour for the Basel sightseeing with the fam. It's very nice to be back in Switzerland," Jarry wrote on Instagram.

Nicolas Jarry celebrated his 28th birthday in style by reaching his first ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinal at the 2023 Shanghai Masters.

The Chilean, who has been enjoying a career-best season with two titles and 36 wins, stunned Terence Atmane, Lorenzo Sonego, and Diego Schwartzman en route to the quarterfinals. He then faced Grigor Dimitrov, who had upset top seed Carlos Alcaraz in the previous round.

Nicolas Jarry, who had won both of his previous matches against Dimitrov, put up a brave fight against the Bulgarian, who eventually prevailed 7-6 (2), 6-4, and ended Jarry’s dream run in Shanghai.
