"Trying to post more non-tennis content" - Jessica Pegula shares glimpses of her off-court life ahead of Miami Open

Jessica Pegula shared a few glimpses of her life away from the WTA tour, posting pictures of herself playing golf, working out, and with her pet dogs, among other things. The World No. 3 suggested that she wanted to share some non-tennis moments from her life with fans and followers.

Pegula bowed out of the fourth round at Indian Wells last week, losing to two-time Grand Slam champion Petra Kvitova in a three-set thriller that was one of the best matches of the season so far. Pegula has been in good form, reaching at least the quarterfinals in three of her four tournaments so far this season and winning the United Cup with Team USA, but will now aim to go all the way to the title in Miami.

Ahead of the Miami Open, Pegula seemed to have taken some time off to recharge her batteries, during which she also played a bit of golf.

"Trying to post more non tennis content," Jessica Pegula wrote on Instagram, sharing a few pictures from her off-court life.

The third seed will begin her Miami campaign against either Canadian Katherine Sebov or rising Czech star Linda Fruhvirtova. She could then face fellow American and 2022 Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins in the third round, before a potential 2023 Australian Open quarterfinals re-match against Victoria Azrenka in the fourth round.

Jessica Pegula opens up about 'change in perspective' after personal setbacks including her mom and Damar Hamlin

While things have seemed to be all rosy for Jessica Pegula due to her on-court success over the past couple of seasons, she has had to deal with personal setbacks, including a major health concern with her mother which she revealed a few months ago. The scary mid-match incident involving NFL star Damar Hamlin, who collapsed on the ground while playing in a match for Pegula's family-owned team Buffalo Bills, also impacted the American star.

She recently opened up about dealing with these incidents, explaining how they changed her perspective on life and made her appreciate the things that really matter.

"Your perception of everything kind of changes a little bit. Not that it changed too much, but I think having a family member that, you know, she probably shouldn't have lived through something like that, that you just shift your perspective and you're just -- you realize like all the other things that bother you aren't really that big of a deal. It just changes your perspective, I would say, in that way," Pegula revealed in a press conference at Indian Wells.

Pegula will defend a run to the semifinals last year at the Miami Open. She lost to Iga Swiatek in the last-four last season.
