Video: Controversy in Miami after Djokovic gets racquet across net to hit a ball against Murray

At a crucial stage in the first set of the Miami quarterfinal yesterday, when Andy Murray was serving to stay in the set, Novak Djokovic reached over the net to put the ball away for a winner.

Replays confirmed that Djokovic had hit the ball illegally and Murray duly asked the umpire to change his decision, only to be told that he could not judge the point using the Hawk-eye replay system as it was out of the purview of the challenge system.

A clearly distracted Murray went on to lose the game and the first set, and continued his argument with the umpire. Would the result have been different had the umpire awarded the point to Murray, as warranted by law?
