The undisputed “King of Clay”, Rafael Nadal started his clay court season with an easy win over Thomaz Bellucci in the first match of the Rio Open. He defeated Bellucci is straight sets 6-4 6-1 in 91 minutes.
The 9-time French Open winner is quite famous in the tennis world for some of the outrageous shots. In his match against Bellucci, he displayed a small sample from his shot repertoire that stunned the crowd and the Brazilian.
At first Bellucci seemed to have the upper hand as he put Nadal on the defensive. But, the clay master had the final say when he produced a stunning lob over the head of Bellucci to claim the point.
