Part Time Captains Always Became Lucky & Effective For India

The Part time captains are those who take captainship in absence of regular captain. When Regular captain is injured or absent because of some reason then one part time captain has been selected for team. And India always got lucky in such cases. Because Part time captains always did good job for India under difficult situations also. To name few as Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi shastri, Ajay jadeja, Rahul dravid, Virendra singh, Gautam gambhir.

Either Sunil gavaskar was there or Ravi shastri or Gautam gambhir … these part time captains always became effective and lucky for Indian cricket…

Under Gambhir’s Captainship second ranked Indian team seen ruled over New Zealand team in five one day match series. As this B grade Gambhir’s team won in first 3 matches, it became undoubted sentence that part time captains always been lucky for India.

Indian cricket board decided to give rest to some senior members of team as Mahendra singh dhoni & some more members. And under this situation captainship given to Gautam gambhir. Under gambhir’s captainship Indian team has won all five matches against New Zealand. But he is not the only one captain who became lucky for India likewise previously also some part time captains leaded Indian cricket team on international level.

Indian test captain Anil kumble was also appointed as part time captain of Indian one day team for some time. Under his captainship India won also. Virendra sehwag also leaded India for seven times in that India won for 4 times. Probability of winning is high in this case also.

Rahul dravid also leaded India in some one day & test matches as part time captain before he was appointed as regular captain. Rahul dravid leaded India in total 10 one day matches & in that India had won 5 matches. In 4 matches India lost & one match was declared as draw. Under Dravid’s captainship India had won all first three matches.

Suresh raina was not succeeded as part time captain. Under raina’s captainship India won only 1 match from 4 matches.

Ajay Jadeja & Ravi Shastri also leaded India as part time captains. And same time they also gave positive results. Jadeja leaded India in 13 one day matches & from that India won 8 matches. Also Under Ravi shastri’s captainship India won 4 matches from 11 matches but it was in difficult tome when India was really struggling with bad form.

If we consider test cricket, then in test cricket most effective part time captain is Sunil gavaskar. Sunil leaded team India under absence of regular captain Bishansingh Bedi. In first match only India had won. In 1976 India went to New Zealand tour under captainship of Bedi. But in first test match Gavaskar leaded India as part time captain in Oakland. In this test match Sunil gawaskar scored 116 & 35 runs and helped India to win that match with 8 wickets. But from next two matches India lost one & drawn one match under captainship of regular captain Bedi and result of series was 1-1.

Ravi Shastri also leaded Indian cricket team under absence of regular captain Vengaskar in 1988 aggainst West Indies. This match India won by 255 runs & special about this match was debut of Spinner Narendra hiravani. Hiravani took 16 wickets in this debut match.

Dravid also initially leaded india in test as part time captain same as in one day matches. Under dravid’s captainship India won against Pakistan in Pakistan only in 2004. In this match which was held at Multan regular captain Saurav Ganguli could not play because of injury. Sehwag played an outstanding inning of 309 runs in this match. India won this match by one inning & 52 runs. Dravid as part time captain leaded India in 5 test matches & in that India won 2 & lost 2. One was draw. Sehwag also leaded India in 3 test matches & in that India won 2, one was draw..So Overall Part Time Captains Always Became Lucky & Effective For India ….
