Wednesday’s proposed meeting between representatives of the IPFCA (Indian Professional Football Clubs Association) and AIFF’s commercial partners IMG-Reliance has been postponed for now, Sportskeeda can confirm.

Following an internal meeting of the IPFCA on Tuesday in Mumbai, the I-League clubs’ body formed a six-member panel to have discussions with AIFF and IMG-R. That meeting between the three parties was scheduled for Wednesday in Mumbai but a few hours later it has been postponed as the IPFCA has been informed by the AIFF that IMG-R won’t be having any meeting until the conclusion of the next AIFF executive committee meeting which is scheduled for August 1.

“AIFF have informed us that IMG-R won’t be meeting us until the next executive committee meeting is done. In our letter we had stated that we want to know their plans regarding the new tournament and how it would benefit Indian football,” Salgaocar general secretary and IPFCA president Raj Gomes told Sportskeeda.

IMG-R are expected to make their final presentation of the new tournament in the executive committee meeting on August 1 and Sportskeeda learnt that the meeting with IPFCA was postponed as the AIFF’s commercial partners are not keen on sharing their plans with the I-League clubs.

In a bid to have discussions with AIFF and IMG-R, IPFCA formed a six-member panel comprising Debabrata Sarkar (East Bengal), Debashish Dutta (Mohun Bagan), Mustafa Ghouse (Bengaluru FC), Valanka Alemao (Churchill Brothers), RAJ Gomes (Salgaocar FC) and Chirag Tanna (Pune FC).

The issue regarding the release of I-League players or the signing of IMG-R contracted players was not supposed to be discussed in the proposed meeting but the postponement means that there will be no end to this deadlock in the near future.
