Fremantle head coach Justin Longmuir expressed disappointment with his team's performance in the match against the West Coast Eagles. Fremantle suffered a 68-105 defeat against the Eagles on Saturday, April 20th.
Following the tournament, Longmuir spoke about the loss, acknowledging that they "got smoked." He emphasized his team's performance in the match against Richmond but noted that things spiralled out of control on Saturday.
Speaking about Fremantle's loss against the West Coast Eagles, Longmuir said (via AFL.com):
"From the 20-minute mark in the first quarter for about two-and-a-half quarters, we got smoked in the contest. We knew what we were getting. Their form over the last two weeks has been really good, and they did to us what they did to Richmond. We prepared for that, but we weren't good enough to handle it.
"We've got to be better than that. We've got to be able to respond quicker, and I thought once they got on top on the scoreboard, we started getting reactive … so a lot went wrong," he added.
It is important to note that the match against the West Coast Eagles marked Fremantle's third consecutive defeat. They commenced the season on a positive note with a win against Brisbane Lions in Round 1 back in March, followed by another victory against North Melbourne.
Additionally, they secured a win against Adelaide in Round 3. However, their performance has taken a downturn in the last three matches, experiencing losses against Carlton, Port Adelaide, and now the West Coast Eagles.

The West Coast Eagles dominated the tournament, maintaining control throughout the match against the Fremantle Dockers on Saturday in Round 6 of the 2024 AFL season.
Eagles seized the lead in the first quarter with a sharp performance and managed to extend it in the second quarter, leading 58-21. Despite the Dockers' attempts to compete, they struggled in the third quarter as well.
Ultimately, the match concluded with the West Coast Eagles scoring 105 points while the Fremantle Dockers trailed behind at 68. The Dockers suffered a brutal loss of 68-105.
Moving ahead, Fremantle will face Western Bulldogs in a match scheduled for April 27, while the Eagles will compete against Gold Coast on April 28.
