#3 Juventus get back to winning ways after testing week

Juventus came into this game on the back of a three-game winless run in all competitions. This run had seen them lose ground in Serie A and stutter in the UEFA Champions League.

Their last victory had been a 2-0 win against AS Roma on 6 February. The clash against Crotone represented the perfect opportunity to get back on track.

As it happened, no upset was on the cards in what was a relatively straightforward victory for Juventus.

Up next for Pirlo's side will be two winnable fixtures against Verona and Spezia before they welcome the high-flying Lazio.

#2 Mixed outing for Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey might have provided the assist for Cristiano Ronaldo's second goal, but it was overall a disappointing night for the Wales international.

The former Arsenal man had several chances to get on the scoresheet but failed to take them, with poor finishing costing him in the final third.

The jury is still out on Ramsey's spell at Juventus, and the 30-year-old failed to make the most of his opportunity against a lowly team.

Cristiano Ronaldo was largely anonymous in the most recent fixtures that Juventus played, with a three-game goal drought a major departure from his stellar displays this season.

It was more of the same in the early stages of the Crotone fixture. Despite controlling most of the possession, the hosts failed to penetrate, much to the frustration of their number seven.

The former Real Madrid man is arguably the greatest header of the ball in history, and his aerial ability came to the fore in five first-half minutes.

His first-half brace took him to 18 league goals, one above Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Serie A Golden Boot. It was also his 25th goal from just 28 games in all competitions in what has been another remarkable campaign for the Madeira native.

Having broken his duck against Crotone, Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored against all 18 clubs he has faced in Serie A. Furthermore, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored against 78 different clubs in Europe's top five leagues. Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic with 79 has scored against more clubs since 2000.

The Juventus talisman was desperate to get his first hat-trick of the season in the second half. He had several chances to do so but failed to take them.

Nevertheless, it was another fine display from a man who continues to exceed the limits expected of a player his age.
