Leon Edwards' dietician makes controversial statement about UFC sponsor Prime drinks by Logan Paul

Leon Edwards' dietician, Jordan Sullivan, has provided some insight into how the UFC welterweight champion trains to stay in peak physical shape. He also made a contentious remark about PRIME Energy Drink, the official sports drink of the UFC.

UFC recently announced a multi-year sponsorship arrangement with PRIME, the hydration drinks company co-founded by Logan Paul and KSI. With that, PRIME replaced Body Armor sports drink.

Within a short period of time after the announcement, several UFC fighters, including Kevin Holland, have criticized the partnership, revealing the pitiful compensation fighters were offered for promoting the brand.

PRIME is being marketed as a healthier alternative to Gatorade, and the company has quickly gained traction in the United Kingdom and the United States. They have been flying off the shelves at retailers like Walmart and are almost always sold out online, with limits even placed on how many drinks can be purchased at once on the site.

Sullivan posted a video that went into greater detail about Leon Edwards' post-weigh-in hydration routine. He also highlighted the different meals included in the 'Rocky' diet. Sullivan tossed away a bottle of PRIME during one frame of the video, claiming it was "literally the worst."

He captioned the post:

"Due to the large time gap between official weigh-ins and competition, which is anywhere from 30-36 hours, many athletes use this as an opportunity ‘to let their foot off the pedal’. This usually results in them drinking fluids that are not ideal and eating meals that cater to cravings, but do not serve their body."

Leon Edwards reacts to Dana White confirming that Colby Covington is next in line for the title shot

Leon Edwards concluded his rivalry with former champion Kamaru Usman by defending his welterweight title for the first time with a majority decision victory at UFC 286. Over the course of five rounds, 'Rocky' successfully negated Usman's takedown threat to earn a majority decision victory (48-46 on two judges' scorecards, 47-47 on the third).

Following Edwards' victory over Usman, UFC president Dana White stated that Colby Covington will challenge Leon Edwards next for the welterweight throne.

Considering that Covington hasn't competed in over a year, Edwards doesn't think 'Chaos' is deserving of a championship shot next when there are other active competitors in the division. Speaking at the post-fight media presser, Leon Edwards said:

"I don't know how Colby makes sense. He hasn't fought for more than a year and a half. There are other active guys in the division. I'm the king now, I've earned my way and should decide who is next.... I had to fight 12 times for a title shot and he [Covington] said he didn't know who I was."
