“Put him on an OL” – NFL Twitter flames Donald Trump as New York Police lists former U.S. President at 270 pounds

Donald Trump was the 45th President of the United States but now finds himself in police custody in New York. When the former U.S. President was booked at a New York police station, he was listed as 270 pounds. Trump has been occasionally targeted by fans about his weight, but some feel he could have a future in the NFL.

Those on NFL Twitter went after Trump and his weight, suggesting what positions he could play on a football field amongst other things:

@TravisAllen02 Wonder what his 40-yard dash time will be
@TravisAllen02 I’m afraid 6’3” 270 is too small to protect my franchise quarterback

"Soft Ivy League schedule, keeps bad company off the field, not exactly a "fox hole" guy and this official weight of 270 is going to hurt him even more. You can't put him on the edge, can't put him inside and can't trust him with a playbook or classified documents." twitter.com/TravisAllen02/…

Donald Trump is no stranger to being connected to the NFL. Most notably, his controversial comments about former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and kneeling. At a 2017 rally, then-President Trump went in, saying owners should've fired Kaepernick for kneeling:

Trump said:

"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. Out! He's fired. He's fired'."

Some didn't agree with his comments, including the Philadelphia Eagles as their White House invite was rescinded after winning Super Bowl 52 in February 2018. He was also linked to seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady early on while the latter was with the New England Patriots.

Brady has played golf with Donald Trump many times. Yet, the "Make America Great Again" hat in Brady's locker caused some controversy in 2015. In an interview with Variety, the former Patriots star said he hasn't spoken to Trump in some time.

Has Donald Trump been an NFL owner?

The former president has tried to own an NFL team but to no avail. However, he did own the USFL franchise the New Jersey Generals. His biggest signing for the Generals was former NFL running back Herschel Walker.

Walker would later run unsuccessfully for the United States Senate last December. Donald Trump has since urged Walker to run for Senate in the state of Georgia.
