Super Bowl Commercials: Top 5 companies to have spent the most money on Super Bowl ads

Some fans devote little attention to the ads during a sports game. However, the Super Bowl is the only time of the year when people genuinely want to see advertising.

The 57th Super Bowl is no exception. For the game, the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Kansas City Chiefs, and Rihanna will perform during the halftime show. There will also be a ton of brand-new, and perhaps memorable, Super Bowl ads sandwiched amid all the excitement.

Like typical advertisements, Super Bowl ads usually last for 30 seconds. Some businesses shorten the duration to 15 seconds or even spend more money to air a 45-second or 1-minute advertisement.

#4 McDonald's

For many years, McDonald's has aired Super Bowl ads. Although they don't run advertisements during every Super Bowl, they have amassed a more significant number of advertisements than almost any other primary product, excluding major breweries.

Thirteen celebrities appeared in 44 McDonald's Super Bowl ads that ran from 1980 to 2022; the most recent was Ken Jeong's in 2019. Eleven per cent of their Super Bowl commercials include at least one celebrity. They have spent more than $108.9 million on Super Bowl ads overall.

#3 Coca Cola

The Super Bowl has long been a venue for the competition between Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

Coca-Cola has run over 16 Super Bowl commercials over the last 13 years. Over the past seven years, it has reportedly spent $25 million on Super Bowl advertisements. According to Adweek, the company spent about $10 million on advertisements for the 2020 Super Bowl.

#2 Pepsi

Pepsi has created some very outstanding commercials that have aired throughout the game over the years. Between 2010 and 2020, 19 Super Bowl ads for the Pepsi brand were shown. In the past seven Super Bowls, Pepsi is thought to have spent around $26 million on advertisements.

The drink has recently been promoted by Britney Spears, Beyonce, Elton John, and many other well-paid leading celebrities.

#1 Budweiser

For the 55 Super Bowls, Budweiser has invested an estimated $475 million in ads. After skipping the Super Bowl in 2021 to devote more time to charitable endeavors, Anheuser-Busch made a strong comeback in 2022 with a 60-second commercial showcasing the regal Budweiser Clydesdales.

This season's Super Bowl advertisement for Budweiser includes star Kevin Bacon and hip-hop music producer Metro Boomin. It revives the beer product's iconic catchphrase, "This Bud's for you," in an attempt to reach out to newer beer lovers.
