Tennis superstar Naomi Osaka recently took to Twitter to send a message to her critics. The Japanese said the messages of support she received from her fans trumped the comments made by naysayers praying for her downfall.

Osaka has spoken about her struggles with mental health in the past with a lot of scrutiny directed towards the former World No. 1.

Osaka took to Twitter to explain how positive feelings always trump the negativity towards her.

"Lol I just want to say if you fw me thank you. Tbh there’s probably a lot of people praying on my downfall but I don’t really feel it cause the love overpowers everything. Thank you."

How has Naomi Osaka fared in the 2022 season so far?

Naomi Osaka had a poor run of results at the start of 2022 but has picked up some steam recently.

The four-time Grand Slam champion has played in only four tournaments this year, most recently at the Miami Open where she reached the final before losing to Iga Świątek in straight sets.

She lost to Veronika Kudermetova in her second match at Indian Wells, just weeks after her third-round exit at the hands of Amanda Anisimova at the Australian Open.

She also participated in the WTA 250 tournament in Melbourne at the start of the season, where she made the semifinals, before withdrawing due to injury.

Osaka will launch her claycourt season at the Madrid Open, where she's been awarded a wildcard. The WTA 1000 event will begin on 28 April.
