3 Reasons why Drew McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins on RAW

If we are taking a look at only the full-time workers on WWE RAW, it is easy to see that Drew McIntyre is the top heel of the red brand. The Scottish Psychopath has been decimating every WWE Superstar on his way.

Last week on RAW, McIntyre brutally defeated Dean Ambrose and also destroyed Roman Reigns. On the latest episode of Raw, McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins, with a little assist from the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

However, WWE does things for a reason. While booking McIntyre to look strong, WWE would have probably calculated what they would do with the Scottish Psychopath in the coming months. In this list, we will take a look at a few reasons why Vince McMahon is booking Drew McIntyre as a monster.

#3 To make Roman Reigns look strong at WrestleMania 35

WWE is still keen in pushing Roman Reigns.

It is no secret that Vince McMahon is behind Roman Reigns even after the Big Dog has to go through a plethora of hostile reactions from the WWE Universe. On the latest episode of RAW, McIntyre openly challenged Roman Reigns for a clash at WrestleMania 35.

The last guy to challenge Reigns at the Showcase of Immortal was The Undertaker, and we all saw how that went. The Undertaker lost to the Big Dog - triggering the WWE Universe to shower Reigns with a hostile reaction.

Similarly, WWE may want McIntyre to put Reigns over at WrestleMania 35. McIntyre defeated Ambrose without breaking any sweat. McIntyre managed to beat Seth Rollins. However, to complete the set, McIntyre has to defeat Roman Reigns.

However, WWE may probably turn the tables and have Reigns go over the Scottish Psychopath in order to make the Big Dog look strong.

#2 A Universal title feud down the line

A McIntyre - Rollins feud would be a mouth-watering prospect.

If all things go well, we may see Seth Rollins defeat Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 35 to bring the Universal title back to Monday Night RAW. However, once Rollins brings the title home, he needs challengers for the title.

Since it would be too early to promote Roman Reigns to the main event scene, he is not a good choice. Other babyfaces have their programs after WrestleMania. Braun Strowman vs. Seth Rollins may not be a good idea as well.

Thus the draw must go to Drew McIntyre to stand in front of the line to challenge Seth Rollins for the Universal title. Thus, the current finish to their singles match in the main event of RAW was the right way to go. Even though McIntyre scored the win, it was not squeaky clean by any stretch of the imagination.

#1 To build McIntyre to conquer the Beast

Who does not want to see a rivalry between these two Behemoths?

Ever wondered why Drew McIntyre interrupted Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman's promo on the opening segment of the night? Although Seth Rollins is set to challenge Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 35 for the Universal Title, WWE has done a terrible job at building him up so far.

Barring a few minor victories against mid-carders, Rollins has not done anything significant since his Royal Rumble win. He did not even get the pin in the six-man tag team match at Fastlane. Now, the Architect failed to defeat Drew McIntyre.

Without an iota of doubt, one could say that McIntyre is more credible than Seth Rollins to dethrone The Beast. Thus, WWE might be planning to have Lesnar hold on to the title for a bit longer and have McIntyre unleash himself on the Beast to bring the title back home.
