There have been some interesting friendships formed in WWE over the years

5 current WWE Superstars you didn't know were best friends

The WWE road is never-ending, which means that many of the company's top stars are unable to see their family as often as they would like. They are instead forced to become friends with the people around them.

Many WWE stars pair off into travel parties which often lead to relationships, whilst others become the best of friends. The IIconics are a well-known duo who have been friends throughout their journey in WWE, whilst Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville met whilst working on Tough Enough back in 2015 and have been best friends ever since.

Sasha Banks and Bayley have been seen as best friends on WWE TV over the past few months, but off-screen there are a number of stars who are also very close.

#5. Beth Phoenix and Natalya

Beth Phoenix may no longer be part of WWE's active roster, but she has found a new home on NXT behind the commentary desk. The WWE Hall of Famer was once part of The Divas of Doom with Natalya which brought her career full circle since Nattie was the woman who helped Phoenix into the business.

Nattie and Phoenix have always been close since Phoenix contacted Natalya and asked her for help when she was still training to be a WWE star. In the years since her retirement, Phoenix has returned a number of times to work with Nattie because the former Women's Champion is her best friend.

The women were originally scheduled to be part of WrestleMania 36 last month together, but this didn't happen since a number of matches were scrapped last minute. Phoenix and Natalya still find time out of their busy schedules to meet up and hang out together just like old times.

#4. Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and John Morrison

Dolph Ziggler has been part of WWE now for more than 15 years, and in that time he has gone through a number of character changes and made a number of good friends. It's not much of a surprise that the men that were around Ziggler when he was breaking into the business have become his closest friends in the years that have followed.

The Miz came into WWE back in 2006, whilst John Morrison was rising through the ranks a a member of MNM, and Ziggler was part of The Spirit Squad.

Ziggler, Morrison, and Miz have all remained close, and even though it's well documented that Miz and Morrison are close friends and former Tag Team Champions, Ziggler is also part of their story.

Ziggler was part of Morrison's wedding to his long-time girlfriend Taya Valkyrie back in 2019 and the trio is often spotted out together. Zack Ryder is also someone who is part of the group, but sadly Ryder was released from WWE alongside a number of other stars last month.

#3. Ricochet and Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews was recently removed from the men's Money in the Bank ladder match after suffering an injury last week on RAW, but interestingly one man that isn't part of that match is Ricochet.

Ricochet has become part of the tag team division alongside Cedric Alexander instead. But whilst these two men have a lot of chemistry in the ring, Ricochet's best friend is actually Apollo Crews.

The two men met whilst they were both performing on the Independent Circuit and were living together at one point alongside Akira Tozawa and Ricochet's girlfriend at the time Tessa Blanchard (who currently works for Impact Wrestling).

Crew and The One and Only have since made their way to WWE, but haven't been able to work together on-screen as of yet. It would be interesting to see if the two men would have the kind of feud that Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville are currently part of on SmackDown, given that they know each other well enough to feud a unique kind of emotion.

#2. Paige and Nia Jax

Paige is still currently signed for WWE even though she is no longer able to perform actively in the ring. Despite the fact that the British star has been taken off the road in recent months, Paige has still made some close friends throughout her time in WWE which has allowed her to continue to help from afar.

Nia Jax recently returned to WWE TV following a lengthy hiatus after she underwent double ACL surgery. But, one of the most surprising facts about her return was when she delivered The RamPaige as her finisher.

It was later revealed that Paige actually gave her best friend Nia Jax her finishing move since she is no longer able to perform it herself. Jax and Paige appeared on Total Divas together for a number of years where they were able to showcase their friendship.

Despite this, the show focused heavily on the relationship between Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax ahead of their deeply personal feud a few years ago which culminated at WrestleMania.

#1. Otis and Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose and Heavy Machinery's Otis have become a popular pairing on WWE TV over the past few weeks since they were finally able to officially become a couple back at WrestleMania.

Interestingly, despite only being able to work together sparsely over the past few months, Otis and Rose have impressive chemistry both inside and outside of the ring, which could be because the two stars have been close since their days in NXT.

Rose recently spoke to Sports Illustrated, where she was able to open up about her lengthy off-screen friendship with Otis, which includes the cute nickname that Otis has given to Rose and continued to call her over the years.

"Ever since we met in NXT, we’d always joke around together. He’d call me ‘Mandy Candy’ and cut different promos, and it was really cute. He’s just so charismatic, even when he’s not on camera. He makes us laugh the same amount when he’s off-camera. He’s funny and super sweet, and he’s so kind, which is one of the best qualities."
