5 reasons why The Usos should sign with AEW

In case you didn't know, The Usos have not signed a new WWE contract. The reasons are unknown at this point but suffice to say, it's well known that the contracts expire in April. So why would the Usos not sign their WWE contracts?

The Usos are one of the best tag teams to come out of WWE in the last decade or so. Their feud with The New Day, The Bar, The Good Brothers and so are quite credible. They have multiple tag team championships to their name and are part of the very famous Anao'i Family. This includes the likes of The Rock, Rikishi (their father), Roman Reigns, and others as well.

The twins are apart of a long history of brothers and family who have been multiple time tag team champions. Is there any left for The Usos in the WWE? It's interesting to note that they never ever worked for another wrestling organization. Chalk up to lack of options in the pro wrestling industry but that is no longer the case.

With the rise of AEW and having The Young Bucks as one of the figureheads of the company, things could get very rose for tag team wrestling.

#5 Poor WWE Storylines

I don't think you understand? I'm not good at this!

Remember the horrendous WWE storyline that Jimmy Uso was involved in with Mandy Rose? Granted, this was more to do with Mandy playing mind games to upset his wife, Naomi so that she could beat her in the ring. Needless to say, the execution was utterly pathetic.

It was just an example of how poorly WWE creative has used them over the past year. Much like the rest of the tag team division, there is very little going in terms of creative ideas and booking of the match.

The tag titles on the red and blue brand seem to needlessly change titles multiple times as a way to shock the audience. AEW might have a better idea on how to use them!

#4 Poor Tag Team Structure

So Do they matter?

If you look at the WWE tag team division, it's not wrong to point out there is a lack of good teams within the WWE. Whether it's to do with injuries laying off one of the competitors or poor creative booking decisions or just not being part of the main roster at the right time.

While teams like The New Day are memorable, teams like the B-Team, Bobby Roode and Chad Gable, Shane McMahon and The Miz, Rhyno and Heath Slater are not necessarily eye-catching and are run of the mill. They have been slapped together for the sake of it without any real investment.

WWE Tag team wrestling was at its peak during the attitude era. The matches were insane and over the top. Edge and Christian, The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz ruled the tag team division and sometimes had the best matches on the card.

With regards to The Usos, it provides another reason to look for greener pastures along the way.

#3 Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon is not the biggest fan of tag team wrestling

As told by ex WWE employees Tom Prichard and Jim Cornette, Vince McMahon is not the biggest fan of tag team wrestling. While he doesn't hate it outright, he doesn't believe that they hold the same value or can feature them in the main event.

Moreover, Vince McMahon is more likely to break up the team if he believes that one of them can become a great WWE superstar. Shawn Michaels is one that comes to mind. But he doesn't have the same fondness for WWE tag teams as he once did.

According to Jim Cornette,

He just doesn't care..to be quite honest...He just has convinced himself that he wants everybody to be an individual name..and they keep setting tag teams up...but if you notice...everytime ...a tag team really gets over....one of the guys gets over more than the other one and then boom...he makes them a single

In a sense, Vince McMahon doesn't see a financial incentive to invest in Tag Team Wrestling. The Usos are brothers and a team. It would be hard to see one survive without the other. It provides another reason for them to jump ship to AEW where they could really shine.

#2 Potentially better feuds at AEW

The Young Bucks vs Lucha Bros

One of the big pluses of AEW is The Young Bucks. They believe that tag team wrestling should be treated with respect and not relegated to a pre-show. AEW has also signed The Lucha Bros who are probably one of the best tag teams in the world.

Moreover, AEW will be looking to add more to the AEW Roster. It would be an interesting scenario if AEW would have a triple threat match with The Young Bucks, Lucha Bros, and The Usos. Brothers vs Brothers vs Brothers would be something that is rarely seen in professional wrestling.

The Young Bucks have themselves said they wanted to feud with The Usos. Even The Revival has been brought up on social media numerous times in the past.

Could The Usos make a bigger impact in AEW than in WWE? Well, first they got to sign on the dotted line.

#1 Main Eventing PPVs

Main Eventers

How many times has tag team wrestling main-evented a PPV? It's rarely been seen in the WWE. In the past, The Young Bucks has said that Tag Team wrestling should be on the top of the card. Their match at ALL IN was absolutely insane and fantastic. It proved that they're willing to buck the trend and do the opposite of what WWE does.

The great team about AEW is the time they're taking to invest in their storylines. While that can be seen right now on the Being The Elite YouTube show, it'll be even more interesting what they can do in a weekly TV show.

The Usos are one of the best tag teams to come out of the WWE. They have won multiple tag titles and have also reinvented their characters during that time. But sometimes, a platform could be a way for the team to further evolve. Perhaps, it lies at AEW.
