5 Things that could change if Roman Reigns is cleared to compete

Not long ago, it was announced that Roman Reigns would be returning to RAW to address the WWE Universe about his health. Now, everyone's hoping for the best with regard to Roman Reigns. We all want him to be healthy and fit, and get back to active competition once again. But have we considered the long-term implications of what him being cleared means?

One thing is for sure, across the WWE Universe. Despite the negative reaction that Roman Reigns is usually subjected to, everyone's hoping that he is healthy and cancer-free, right now.

#5 Dean Ambrose may reconsider his decision to leave

I could be completely off the mark here, and this is pure speculation on my part. But it is well documented how close Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns are behind the scenes. Ambrose is well known to be a private person who's only close to a handful of people, and Reigns is one of the few individuals he considers a real friend.

Now, let's assume for a minute that Reigns is cleared to compete once again. Not only does Reigns return as a potential opponent and tag team partner for Ambrose, but he returns as the locker room leader as well. With Reigns back in the thick of things, Ambrose may decide to stay back after WrestleMania.

Ambrose is a key player in the WWE Universe and this bodes well for the company in the long run. So, let's hope Roman Reigns is cleared for more reasons than one.

#4 Reigns is added to the WrestleMania main event

If Roman Reigns is cleared to compete again, he has no potential match for WrestleMania. Of course, he could be part of a variety of programs and feuds in the lead up to WrestleMania culminating in a big match. But in all likelihood, he will be added to the main event to make it feel even bigger.

And this is necessary because neither Lesnar nor Rollins is on RAW, for two different reasons of course. Therefore, the whole program and the match in itself haven't felt as important as they should, because the Universal Championship hasn't been featured on the show in quite some time. WWE may just decide to add Reigns into the mix.

This may not necessarily be the best ploy because it will get Reigns booed. And Reigns has a great chance to become a top babyface if booked right.

#3 Roman Reigns becomes the babyface that Vince McMahon always wanted him to be

Roman Reigns essentially told us a few months ago that he was a real-life superhero. He informed the world that he was battling leukemia and has been doing so for eleven years, and vowed to return to WWE once again after relinquishing the Universal Championship.

Even though Reigns has only been a babyface from the very start, the audience has treated him as a heel, booing him at nearly every turn. But now, having defeated a real-life adversary (if he's cleared), the audience may actually treat Reigns like the babyface that he is.

WWE will finally have a top star that the audience can get behind in Reigns. This should last for a few weeks at least before the crowd turns on him once again.

If WWE does not give him silly scripted promos, he may be cheered for quite some time, honestly.

#2 Roman Reigns vs. The Rock actually takes place

The isle of Samoa has produced some of the greatest sports entertainers in WWE history. Two of the greatest are Roman Reigns and The Rock. And a match between the two stars has been discussed and spoken about many a time in the past.

Because of Roman Reigns' illness, it was assumed that the two men would perhaps never clash. But if Roman Reigns were to get cleared, I can see this match happen as recently as WrestleMania this year, just to add a little spark to the card. Somehow the build to the 'show of shows' has not been as exciting this year, as it is almost every single year.

Of course, this also depends on The Rock's schedule. But the match has been teased by both men in the past and so one assumes that it is going to happen, down the line someday.

#1 A subsequent trade to SmackDown Live

Roman Reigns has been on RAW since the last brand split. But that may just change after the next Superstar Shake-Up if he's cleared. This is because SmackDown moves to FOX in October. And FOX wants to load up the blue brand with top talent.

Now, it is well known that they wanted Ronda Rousey in their ranks. Rousey's situation is uncertain because she's been public about wanting to start a family with her husband. WWE may just decide to trade Reigns to SmackDown so as to keep the new Network happy.

It may also freshen Roman Reigns' character to see him mix it up with a brand new crop of talent on the blue brand. Ultimately, it all depends upon what announcement Reigns makes when he returns to RAW this week.

We simply cannot wait to hear what he has to say!
