Why did Stephanie McMahon kiss Eric Bischoff on WWE SmackDown? Details fans must know

Stephanie McMahon is one of the most well-known personalities in WWE. The Billion Dollar Princess has been a part of several memorable feuds over the years in WWE.

One such storyline saw the daughter of the former Chairman of the company return as the new SmackDown General Manager in July 2002. She entered into a feud with the then RAW General Manager, Eric Bischoff.

On the October 31, 2002, edition of SmackDown, Bischoff made an appearance at a Halloween party wearing a Vince McMahon mask. When the Hall of Famer removed his mask, an irate Stephanie tried to slap him. However, Bischoff blocked her hand before kissing her on her lips.

On his 83 Weeks podcast, the former Senior Vice President of WCW revealed his thoughts about the infamous segment. Bischoff started that he was excited about the aforementioned segment; however, he knew Stephanie wasn't too keen on it:

"I thought it was a great idea. I was really excited. Having [Vince] standing there directing the scene while I was making out with his daughter – I knew she didn't want to do it. It was like me and how I felt when I had to take a Stink Face from Rikishi. I am sure she wasn't feeling that, but she was a pro, and as weird as it was, again, as a character, you are doing it. I think it was a live segment, and as I am doing it, I can hear the crowd reacting even though I was in a remote arena. But I can hear the reaction from the crowd, thinking, holy s**t, this is going to be great!" he said. [H/T: WrestlingInc.]

Stephanie McMahon has had a great run in WWE

From being an on-screen authority figure to being part of some interesting matches to winning the Women's Champion, Stephanie McMahon has had a phenomenal run with the Stamford-based company.

The former SmackDown General Manager has been a powerful and influential personality off-screen too. While she was WWE's chief brand officer from 2013 to 2022, McMahon was named chairwoman and co-CEO of the company following Vince McMahon's retirement in July last year.

However, Stephanie resigned from her role following Vince's return earlier this year.
