WWE RAW Preview: Big return, Unexpected partner for Roman Reigns?

Remember the days of the Attitude Era when the very mention of RAW would get all of us excited? Those days are long behind us, but in the wake of Paul Heyman taking control of the show, they could return yet again.

This week, RAW comes to us from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. On paper, at least, the card seems stacked and if all goes well, it could continue the momentum that RAW built up over the past week.

Honestly, a three-hour long show is very difficult to book and it is natural for the human mind to wander during the course of these three hours. But with Paul Heyman in control of things, with Vince McMahon's added finesse, RAW could turn things around to quite a degree.

So what does RAW have in store for all of us?

#5 Will Ricochet find allies against The Club?

So, The Club reunited last week on RAW with AJ Styles officially turning heel. Ricochet finds himself all alone as he faces three very dangerous men in Styles, Gallows, and Anderson. It is quite clear that all of this is a setup for a US Title Program, presumably at Extreme Rules.

But to build excitement for the Extreme Rules match, I'm guessing that we're going to see a six-man tag team match between The Club against Ricochet and two partners of his choosing. This would be a great spot to showcase Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins or even The Street Profits.

Ricochet is smack dab in the mix of a big push and whoever gets to team up with him will benefit from the same immensely. I would love to see a team that hasn't been getting any screen time capitalize on the same.

#4 Who is Roman Reigns' mystery partner on RAW?

Roman Reigns teams up with The Undertaker this weekend at WWE Extreme Rules. But before that, he will be teaming up with a mystery partner on RAW. There has been a lot of buzz and speculation with regard to who the man could potentially be.

Some have said that it will be Bray Wyatt while others have named members of the roster that haven't been getting any screen time, like Rusev and Bobby Roode. This is by far the biggest hook for the show this week and there's an element of intrigue to the proceedings like never before. Unless WWE disappoints big time, this should be quite a moment.

I think it will most likely be Kane, considering that The Undertaker will most likely not be present at the show. Even if it is Kane, I guess that the crowd will go absolutely bananas.

#3 A possible update on Braun Strowman

We know that the angle with Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley was carried out last week to mask the fact that Strowman is legitimately not at 100%. This is why he went through the LED board with Bobby Lashley and the eruption that followed actually happened.

I wonder if we'll get an update on Braun Strowman's condition, right from his hospital bed, hyping up his return? Maybe he sends out a threat to Bobby Lashley because it is clear that the feud is far from over at this moment.

What we do know is that Bobby Lashley is not in the 'medical facility', and now he has the bragging rights about putting away the 'Monster Among Men'. Who is next in his crosshairs while Braun Strowman recovers from his legitimate injury?

We know that Heyman and Lashley are friends, so something could be in the works...

#2 A little taste of Extreme Rules

I know that some of you are big fans of the Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch pairing on WWE RAW. I know that a lot of people do not like the on-screen pairing at all. Whatever the case may be, WWE is high on its power couple and we're going to see this storyline play out big time, in the weeks to come.

We do know that they're scheduled to take on Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans at WWE Extreme Rules. But before that happens, they will take on Andrade and Zelina on RAW. This could potentially be a far better contest than their eventual pay-per-view match will.

Could we potentially see Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans interfere during the course of this contest? I think that's a pretty big possibility. I also think that if the match goes well, Seth vs. Andrade could happen down the line someday.

#1 Whom will Rey Mysterio aim for upon his big return?

Rey Mysterio captured the US Championship from Samoa Joe but had to relinquish it soon after owing to a shoulder injury, which was a real disappointment for his fans. Well, the good wishes sent by the WWE Universe seem to have worked because Rey Mysterio will return to RAW this week.

The question remains if he will chase for the US Title, or indeed go after the WWE Championship because he has unfinished business with Samoa Joe. We all know that whatever Rey Mysterio touches will turn to gold, so either situation works for us.

It would be very interesting to see if Mysterio manages to capture either Championship. He has been battling injuries and WWE may not want to have him vacate once more.

However, the star power he brings to any feud cannot be ignored by WWE Creative.
