WWE Super ShowDown 2019: 2 reasons why Undertaker should win and 2 reasons why Goldberg should win

Two of the biggest Superstars Vince McMahon's company has ever produced, Goldberg and The Undertaker will clash in a first time ever match at WWE Super ShowDown next Friday. Surprisingly, WWE has provided no build whatsoever for this iconic match-up but with both the legends set to appear next week on WWE TV, expect them to hype up the WWE Universe.

The Deadman will appear on the flagship show this Monday while the Myth will make his SmackDown Live debut on Tuesday night before both the legends board the flight to Saudi Arabia. With both of them appearing on separate shows, the WWE Universe may not get a chance to witness a confrontation between the two Superstars. However, one can never rule out a Surprise from WWE's side.

Irrespective of what happens this week, the Saudi Arabia fans will see the grandest match of the year take place in front of their eyes on 7th June. In this article, we will have a look at 2 reasons why the Undertaker should win the match and 2 reasons why Goldberg should win.

#1 Why 'Taker should win - The Deadman is on a two-match losing streak

Ad
Undertaker's last win came way back in April 2018 at the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV

Though the Phenom is not as regular in the ring as he was earlier, he has a habit of winning matches inside the squared circle. However, 'Taker has not won a single match in the past 12 months. He lost to Triple H in a No DQ match at WWE Super Show Down last year while he and his brother, Kane, lost to DX at WWE Crown Jewel the following month.

Since that night, The Deadman has not wrestled a single match and he should emerge victorious in this match to snap his losing streak.

#2 Why 'Taker should win - To prove that WWE is superior to WCW

Undertaker has been in WWE for nearly 3 decades

While this may not be in the minds of the WWE fans, Triple H and Vince McMahon may have the WWE vs WCW idea in their brains. Who can forget the WrestleMania clash between The Game and Sting where HHH used the entire storyline to prove that WWE is superior to WCW?

WCW has died and the only wrestling promotion that most fans know is WWE. Very few WCW legends are still active inside the ring and Goldberg is one of them.

This bout between Goldberg and The Undertaker is bound to be once-off. Hence, WWE may try their best to once again establish that World Wrestling Entertainment was, is and forever will be better than World Championship Wrestling.

#1 Why Goldberg should win - The perfect way to end his career

You deserve it!

Goldberg had one of the most memorable runs of his career in 2016-17 and the fans expected him to bid adieu to professional wrestling forever after his WrestleMania 33 loss to Brock Lesnar. However, the former Universal Champion has announced his return to the squared circle once again.

While the fans are believing that money is the reason why he is returning to the ring, the same may not be true. Perhaps, WWE would have offered Goldberg a mega-retirement match against The Undertaker and given the monetary benefits he will receive, the Icon would have had no option but to say yes.

Goldberg is a superstar who is famous as an unbeatable guy and to end his legendary career with a WrestleMania defeat did not look suitable. Hence, a win against the Deadman is the best possible way Goldberg can finally say goodbye to his fans.

#2 Goldberg should win - Allows WWE to keep the match short

The entrances will definitely last longer than the match
Ad

The key reason why WWE should allow Goldberg to walk away with a win here is that it will allow them to book a short match. I mean, even the die hard fans of the Undertaker could not stop themselves from criticizing the Deadman's in-ring technicalities at WWE Super ShowDown and WWE Crown Jewel. A lot of fans even hailed them as two of the worst matches of the Undertaker's career.

On the other hand, Goldberg is someone who believes in using only two moves in a match. If WWE books a long match between the two superstars, the fans will be bored. To keep the affair short and sweet, the former Universal Champion must be allowed to squash the Undertaker in a few minutes.

Also, there may be a huge number of botches if WWE prolongs this match. Booking a Goldberg victory with Spears and a Jackhammer will be easy for the company than booking the Undertaker to hit Goldberg with Chokeslams and Tombstones.

Hence, to keep both the superstars away from risks, WWE should book a short match where Goldberg wins.
