Archery World Cup kicks off today with 15 Indian archers participating

Indian archers are all set to take part in the Archery World Cup stage-IV, which will be held in the city of Wroclaw in Poland from Aug 19-25.

The Indian team, which comprises of 15 archers and 6 officials(4 coaches and 2 other officials), reached the beautiful city of Wroclaw on Sunday.

Wroclaw is the largest city and capital of the region of Lower Silesia in Poland. It will stage the last World Cup before the World Cup finals in Paris.

In the recently concluded Archery World Cup stage 3 in Medellin, the Indian team won one gold and two bronze medals.

“Indian archers are in fantastic form and they will perform magnificently in the concluding World Cup of this year maintaining their excellent medal winning form,” said the president of the Archery Association of India, Vijay Kumar Malhotra.

This is the last tournament before the World Archery Championships, which will be held in Antalya, Turkey from September 29 to October 6.
