World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024 Day 1 Results: Christian Coleman beats Noah Lyles to win World Crown, Ryan Crouser wins first Indoor Gold 

The World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024 began with thrilling performances on the first day. These championships mark the beginning of the Olympic season with the first major tournament of the year.

Many top athletes from all over the world will be taking to the track in their quest to become the world's best. Day 1 was one of the most hyped opening days of the season as athletes like Noah Lyles, Christian Coleman, Femke Bol, Ryan Crouser were all lined up to take center stage.

The 60m sprint event was one of the most anticipated races of the season with a staunch rivalry between Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman. Olympic Champion Noah Lyles won the gold medal at the USATF Indoor Championships earlier this year to qualify for the World Athletics Indoor Championships defeating Christian Coleman.

However, Christian Coleman defeated Noah Lyles in the final of the World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024 clocking 6.41 which is the fastest time of the year. Noah took the silver medal clocking 6.44.

In the men's shotput two-time world outdoor and Olympic champion and world record-holder, Ryan Crouser clinched his first World Athletics Indoor Championships gold medal. At the end of day 1, Team USA leads the medal tally of the World Athletics Indoor Championships with 4 medals under their belt of which 2 of them are gold, 1 is a silver and 1 is a bronze. Australia followed the United States of America to take second place with 1 gold medal.
