2015 China Open Superseries Premier: Saina Nehwal storms into the final

Defending champion and top seed Saina Nehwal defeated Wang Yihan of China in straight games 21-13 21-18 to move into the finals of the China Open Superseries Premier on Saturday.

The opening game saw the Chinese take a 5-3 opening game lead before Saina stormed back into the contest, first equalling the score at 5-5 and then winning 4 points straight to go 9-5 up before leading 11-7 in the mid game interval of the opening game. After the interval, Wang fought back well to level the score at 11-11 before Saina took the lead again and then dominated her way to winning the first game 21-13.

The second game saw a more tightly contested affair between the two, but it was the Indian who took the lead at the 6-6 mark winning 3 points straight to go 9-6 up. Saina went into the mid game interval with an 11-10 lead and after the break the tussle continued between both players.

But the vital turn came at the 17-17 mark when Saina took the lead, winning 2 points straight to go 19-17 up and soon enough sealed the game 21-18 to progress through to her second consecutive final.

Saina will take on Li Xuerui in the final on Sunday.
