2015 Dutch Open Grand Prix: Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy into the semifinals

Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy continued their fine run

The Men’s Doubles pairing of Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy moved into the semifinals of the Dutch Open Gran Prix after beating the German pair of Max Schwenger and Josche Zurwonner in the quarterfinals 18-21 21-13 21-19 on Thursday.

The opening game saw both pair go head-on against one another, but the Indian duo seized the advantage at the very first opening at the 9-9 mark, winning 3 points straight to go 12-9 up. But after giving three straight points immediately after that, The German pair brought the match back on level terms, winning 3 points to square the game at 12-12 and then maintained that advantage throughout to win the opening game 21-18.

The second game saw the Indian pair come out and play a much stronger game as they won points on a consistent basis, putting enormous pressure on their opponent to seal the game 21-13 and take the match into a decider.

The decider turned out to be yet another closely fought duel between the two pairs but at the 10-10 mark ,it was the Indian pair who went forward in the game- first taking the lead and then building that advantage by winning points consistently to seal the game and the match and progress through to the semifinals.

They will face the winner of the match between Andrew Ellis/Peter Mills and Lin Chia Hu/Hsiao-Lin Wu in the final four.
