India’s Saina Nehwal booked a place into her third consecutive quarterfinal at the Australian Open Super Series after beating Goh Wei Jin 21-12 21-14 in the second round on Thursday.
The 26-year-old began the match on a positive note by taking a 4-1 lead but assumed complete control from 9-9 mark, when she clinched 4 points straight to go 13-9 up before winning 8 out of the next 11 points to win the opening game 21-12.

The second game began on a close note but once Saina took a 11-9 lead at the interval, it was all one-way traffic and the Indian romped home to a 21-14 game win to seal a place in the quarterfinals.
Srikanth progresses as well
The big Men’s Singles hope Kidambi Srikanth also had a safe passage into the quarterfinal, defeating Soni Kuncuro 21-19-21 12 to book his place in the quarterfinal stage of the competition.
