It was yet another good day for India on the courts of California at the US Open Grand Prix Gold with 5 out of the 6 Men’s shuttlers progressing through to Round 3 of the competition.
HS Prannoy registered a an easy straight games win over Joshua Magee 21-8 21-9, as did Ajay Jayaram who defeated Raul Must 21-14 21-9 in his second round match. Sai Praneeth further stretched his impressive run of form, beating BR Sankeerth 21-15 21-17 and Anand Pawat also had won his second round match beating David Obernoster in straight games.

It wasn’t the similar case in the Women’s Singles as Ruthvika Gadde bowed out in the opening round,losing in three games to Ayumi Mane, but Tanvi Lad registered a comfortbale straight games win over Nikte Sotomayor 21-6 21-9 to move into the next round.
Thursday’s action will see Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy play their first match of the competition.
