Jakarta - Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia won the Indonesia Open Super Series Premier men’s doubles gold, beating their South Korean counterparts in the final here today.

The unseeded Indonesian players ended the match against No.2 Ko Hyung Sun and Lee Yong Dae 21-14, 21-18. They received $55,300 while the South Koreans received $26,600, reports Xinhua.

“We played well today. We have learned their playing from the previous meet,” Setiawan said.

His partner Ahsan said that home support lifted his spirit to win the match. The duo met the South Koreans in the recent Malaysia Open.

Meanwhile, Chinese No.1 women’s singles player Li Xuerui took the title, beating German Juliane Schenk.

“She (Schenk) played well throughout the match. For me, this tournament is a ground to improve my performance as I was not too good in the last half year,” Li Xuerui said.

A finalist last year, Li Xuerui went through a tough match to win 21-16, 18-21, 21-17 and bag $52,500. Juliane received $26,600 as the runner-up.
