India’s Ajay Jayaram moved into the second round of the 2015 Russian Open after beating Kirill Timofeev convincingly 21-7 21-7 in a mere 17 minutes in the opening round on Wednesday.

Game 1 saw the Indian dominate proceedings as he raced away to a 5-0 lead at the start and then further built that lead by winning 8 out of the next 11 points to go 13-3 up.That surge in points put his opponent on the back foot and the found no way to make any comeback and eventually lost game 21-7.

The second game saw a similar tale unfold as Jayaram kept up the pressure by surging away to a 5-1 lead and then maintained that pressure on Timofeev, never allowing him to break away at any point to eventually seal the game 21-7 and the match in straight game and progress through to the second round.
