Akshay Dewalkar and Prajakta Sawant move into semifinals of Russia Open

The Indian Mixed Doubles pairing of Akshay Dewalkar and Prajakta Sawant moved into the semifinals of the 2015 Russian Open, after beating the French pair of Ronan Labar and Emilie Lefel in straight games 21-18 21-18 in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Game 1 saw the Indian pairing get off to a good start, but the French pair also ensured that the match didn't run away from their grasp. The crucial turn occurred at the 17-17 mark, when Dewalkar and Sawant won three points on the 20-17 up and seal 3 game points, which they would convert a few moments later to go 21-18 up in the first game.

The second game proved to be a more topsy-turvy affair, but it was the Indian pair who once again took control of proceedings, winning 4 points on the trot to go 19-15 up and eventually took the game 21-18 to book a place in the final four.

They will now face Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino in the semifinals
