The India mixed doubles pairing of Pranaav Jerrry Chopra and Ashwini Ponnapa recorded their second straight victory in the qualifying stages of the 2015 Australian Open, defeating the pairing of Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Herttrich of Germany 21-19 21-17 in a closely contested match.
The pair of Chopra and Ponnappa won seven points on the trot as compared to the opponent’s 5 to take the first game 21-19.
The second game once again proved to be closely contested affair as both pairs went neck-to-neck for a large part. Both the India as well as the German pair won 4 points consecutively, but it was the duo of Chopra and Ponnappa who managed to hold on to their nerve and secure a 21-17 second game win.
