Badminton Association of India congratulates PV Sindhu for winning the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix

PV Sindhu has started 2016 with a bang

PV Sindhu gives yet another reason to Indian Badminton a moment of pride as she sent on to win the title of the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold title today. Playing for the title against Kristy Gilmour from Scotland, Sindhu won the match in straight sets showcasing her form as she gave no chance to the opponent to bounce back. Badminton Association of India on the occasion announced a cash reward of Rs. 5,00,000, and congratulating her for winning the Grand Prix the second time, with the first being during the 2013 edition.

Speaking on the announcement, Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta, President, Badminton Association of India said, “I congratulate her for this stupendous win. She won the title in 2013 and this time she was quite keen to achieve the feat again and she did it. I am proud of her and wish her luck to win more such titles in the future. This victory comes at a time when winning and being in form is important keeping the upcoming RIO in mind and I am certain she will be a force to reckon with in the upcoming event.”.

Sindhu ended 2015 by winning the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold and she commences 2016 by winning the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix. All set to play the upcoming RIO Olympics 2016, PV Sindhu is making her intentions clear that she should not be taken lightly and should be watched out for.
