Badminton Update -Saina Wins India Open Grand Prix Title

Its FIFA fever all round the globe. Football is such a loved game throughout the world that all other games are over shadowed right now.

But, there is some great news for Indian Badminton as our Saina Nehwal won the India Grand Pix Title held at Chennai. World number 6 (Top seeded in this particular tournament) Saina did not start the match on a good note but quickly improved her game and bounced back in style to win the tournament. Saina Nehwal defeated Malaysia’s Mew Choo Wong 20-22, 21-14, 21-12 to win the Indian Open. She picked up 7,000 ranking points on account of this victory which should see her move up in the world rankings.

But in Men’s group Sai Dutt of India went down 13-21, 18-21 to unheralded Indonesian Yunus Alamsyah. It is Yunus’s first major international title.
