BWF Rankings: HS Prannoy slips one spot, Ashwini Ponnappa-N.Sikki Reddy move up the ladder

Indian women's doubles pair of Ashwini Ponappa and N.Sikki Reddy rose in the BWF rankings, while men's singles stars HS Prannoy and Parupalli Kashyap also grabbed the headlines on the day.

The likes of Sai Praneeth B, Sameer Verma moved up one spot while Ajay Jayaram, who moved up 16 spots to stand on 90th place and Lakshya Sen entered the Top-100 rankings for the first time.

Kidambi Srikanth's remained on third place, while the duo of PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal, both of whom did not make it to the finals of the championships remained static on 3rd and 10th rank respectively.

In the men's singles category, Sai Praneeth rose one spot to occupy the 17th rank while Sameer Verma is placed on 25th, a one-place rise. One of the biggest positives for India was the entry of Ajay Jayaram and upcoming star Lakshya Sen into the top-100. While Jayaram rose a whopping 16 places to occupy the 90th rank, Lakshya is placed 99th, three spots below Abhishek Yeligar.

However, all was not rosy as the duo of Parupalli Kashyap and Sourabh Verma fell by 3 and 12 places respectively to occupy the 40th and 69th rank.

The rankings in the women's singles category did not see much of a change with only the duo of Vaishnavi Jakka Reddy and Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli gaining one spot each to occupy the 63rd and 65th rank respectively. Shivani Gadde remained on 54th while Mughda Agrey and Saili Rane are on 87th and 92nd with a one spot drop respectively.

Manu Attri/Sumeeth B Reddy gained four places to sit on 28th rank in the men's doubles category in a list that features Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty on 18th place, Arjun M.R/Ramachandran Shlok on 43rd rank and Francis Alwin/K Nandagopal on 59th place.

In the women's doubles category, Ashwini Ponnappa/N Sikki Reddy rose one spot to occupy the 25th rank while Meghana Jakkampudi/Poorvisha S Ram's first-round victory earned them a five-spot rise to settle with a new rank of 44. Sanjyojita Ghorpade/Prajakta Sawant slipped three spots to settle on 79th while Aparna Balan/Sruthi KP gained two spots to finish 82nd.

Pranaav Jerry Chopra/Sikki N Reddy fell one spot to occupy 24th place in the mixed doubles category in a list which also features Ashwini Ponnappa/Satwiksairaj Rankireddy in 52nd and Rohan Kapoor/Kuhoo Garg in 57th courtesy of a six-spot rise. Saurabh Sharma and Anoushka Parikh stand 59th on the list as well.
