Indian challenge ends in Mixed Doubles category in Swiss International 2013

The Indian pair of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Maneesha K. disappointed the fans in the semi-final clash on Sunday. The pair of Chopra and Maneesha was up against the Russian pair of Vitalij Durkin and Nina Vislova in the second semi-final match of the Mixed Doubles category. The Russian pair clinched the victory in the first two games of the match.

In the first game of the match, the Indians had a decent start. At one stage of the game, the score was levelled with 10-10. But after that, the Russian pair took the charge and snatched the first game easily by 21-15.

In the second game of the match, Chopra and Maneesha displayed a good show on the court initially and were successful in keeping the score 7-7. But Durkin and Vislova presented extraordinary game in the rest phase of the game. The Indian pair was unable to resist the agile Russian attack and lost the game by 11-21. The match was played for only 24 minutes. With this defeat, the Indian opportunity has come to an end in the Mixed Doubles category of the Swiss International 2013.

On the other side, in the first semi-final clash of the Mixed Doubles category, the French pair of Ronan Labar and Emilie Lefel crushed the Swedish pair to book their berth in the finals of the category. The Swedish pair of Jonathan Nordh and Emelie Lennartsson were unable to present a tough fight against the French pair.

Labar and Lefel completely dominated the first game of the match. They were successful in bagging the first game in their favour by 21-9.

The Swedish pair tried to make a comeback in the second game of the match. They were able to keep the score levelled 5-15 at one stage but the confident French pair didn’t allow the Swedish couple to overcome and snatched the game by 21-18. This way, Labar and Lefel have progressed to the Finals of the category.
