RMV Gurusaidutt lost in three games

In a hard fought contest, India’s RMV Gurusaidutt was ousted in three games by Japan’s Takuma Ueda 22-20 13-21 21-16 in 72 minutes in the third roundd of the 2015 US Open Grand Prix Gold on Thursday.

Game 1 began on an even keel with both players winning 2 of the first 4 points,but it was Ueda, who was the first to break the deadlock as he raced to a 7-2 lead by winning 5 points consecutively.Gurusaidutt,though, refused to baack down and the next set poinnts of points saw both players exchange leads. untul a decisive turn arrived with the Indian leading 20-16. Realising that he had to forge a comeback quicklky, Ueda stunned his opponent by winning the next points onn the trot and took the opening game 22-20.

The second game saw Ueda take an early 3-1 lead, but Gurusaidutt came back to first, level the match and then to win the next 2 points to take a 5-2 lead. Both players then exchanged leads until it reached the 11-11 mark, where the Indian played some superb badminton to win 5 points on the trot to go 16-11 up. That surge in points proved to be enough in the end and he went on to win the game 21-13.

The decider saw both players win couple of points each on the trot at the start and reach a deadlock at 6-6, but it was the Indian who broke the tie, by winning the next 2 points to go 8-6 up. The next set of points saw both players fight toe-to-toe but the match turned towards Ueda’s favour when he at thee 17-16 mark, he won 4 points straight to win the game 21-16 and qualifh for the quarterfinals.
