The latest list of the BWF World Rankings saw Indian shuttlers being dealt a mixed hand. Despite retiring from the Denmark Open due to injury issues, the duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have retained their world number one spot in the doubles ranking.

Meanwhile, over six months after she dropped out of the world's top ten, PV Sindhu is back where she belongs. Her two consecutive semi-final finishes at the Arctic Open and Denmark Open have landed the Indian the tenth spot in BWF's current world rankings.

The men's singles rankings were slightly disappointing for Indian badminton fans. While HS Prannoy hasn't moved from the number eight rank, both Lakshya Sen and Srikanth Kidambi have fallen slightly down the ladder.

Sen lost one spot while Kidambi lost two, and both of them are now ranked 17th and 22nd in the world respectively. Slightly lower in the rankings, Priyanshu Rajawat stayed stable at the 30th spot, while Kiran George moved up 5 places to attain his best-ever ranking of 35.

In the women's doubles rankings, Treesa Jolly and Gayathri Gopichand dropped down a rank and are now 18th in the world. However, Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto jumped 8 places to be ranked 30th, setting a new personal best for themselves.

There was little to note in the mixed doubles rankings list, except for the fact that the duo of Sikki Reddy and Rohan Kapoor moved down three places to world number 40.

Other than Rankireddy/Shetty retaining their world number one spot, the rank list for the men's doubles also saw the pair of Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panchal climb up the ladder to the 39th place. Meanwhile, Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun lost a spot to go down to number 49.

PV Sindhu likely to climb to number nine spot after the French Open

PV Sindhu is currently the world number 10 after Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon. However, Intanon is out of action due to an injury, and Sindhu is likely to overtake her after the French Open Super 750.

The Indian has already given fans a thrilling match in France, chasing down seventh seed Gregoria Mariska Tunjung after losing the first game 21-12. Sindhu is slated to battle Thailand's Supanida Katethong in the Round of 16.
