The hectic BWF World Tour schedule is finally winding down, and one of the last tournaments on the calendar is the Syed Modi International. The Super 300 event began in Lucknow today (Tuesday, November 26) and gives Indian badminton enthusiasts a chance to watch the stars as well as the promising youngsters of the nation live.
After a few hectic qualification matches, the day's main-draw action consisted solely of mixed doubles matches. Multiple Indians put on strong performances, with the top-seeded duo of Sumeeth Reddy and Sikki Reddy claiming an easy win to move forward to the Round of 16.
Elsewhere, the pairs of Tanisha Crasto/Dhruv Kapila and Rohan Kapoor/Ruthvika Shivani Gadde also put on impressive displays to clinch wins. One of the most promising performances of the day came from the duo of Deep Rambhiya and Simran Singhi, who pulled off an upset when they outdid seeded compatriots Ashith Surya/Amrutha Pramuthesh to book a berth in the pre-quarterfinals of the Syed Modi International.
