Syed Modi International 2024 Day 3 Results: PV Sindhu survives scare; Lakshya Sen, Priyanshu Rajawat ease into quarterfinals

Day 3 of action at the Syed Modi International brought some exciting results. There were a handful of shocking upsets, giving fans a day of thrilling matches.

In men's singles, Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty and Priyanshu Rajawat were able to make it through to the quarterfinals without dropping a single game. Joining them in the last eight was Meiraba Maisnam who upset sixth seed and World No. 42 Nhat Nguyen. On the other end, third seed Kiran George was unseated by Japan's Shogo Ogawa, putting an early end to the Indian's campaign in Lucknow.

On the women's singles end of things at the Syed Modi International, PV Sindhu was able to scrape through to the quarterfinals after a three-game encounter with World No. 147 Ira Sharma. Elsewhere, Tasnim Mir beat fifth seed Anupama Upadhyay, Shriyanshi Valishetty outdid second seed Malvika Bansod, and Unnati Hooda got the better of Thai fourth seed Pornpicha Choeikeewong.

The doubles matches at the Syed Modi International saw the pairs of Ashwini Ponappa/Tanisha Crasto and Treesa Jolly/Gayathri Gopichand ease into the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, the mixed doubles top seeds Sumeeth Reddy and Sikki Reddy were upset by Malaysian World No. 102 Loo Bing Kun and Ho Lo Ee.
