What's the story?

The Premier Badminton League season is set to begin on the 23rd of December and the teams have already started their preparations in a bid to get their hands on the coveted trophy. The competition will have two new entrants in its third season in the form of Ahmedabad Smash Masters and the North Eastern Warriors from Guwahati.

The Smash Masters, led by HS Prannoy, have already started their first practice session under the guidance of the coaches earlier today. It did not take too long for the banter to be served and Prannoy was involved in a fun-filled conversation with teammate Stefani Stoeva on Twitter.

In case you didn't know

Prannoy was the costliest player in the auction and the Ahmedabad franchise had to spend Rs 62 lakh to acquire his services. The other big name on their ranks is Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan, who is already a big fish in women's badminton at the tender age of 23.

Heart of the matter

However, it was Stoeva and Prannoy who were involved in the banter on Twitter after the team's official handle had tweeted about their first practice session under Madhumita Bisht and Siddharth Jain.

Prannoy was quick to respond to Stoeva's claim and commented...

Stoeva, however, had to have the last laugh, as she replied:

What's next?

Both Prannoy and Stoeva are expected to play a part in their team's first game against the North Eastern Warriors in Guwahati on the 26th of December.

Author's take

There is nothing quite like the hilarious banter at our disposal, thanks to Twitter and it will be even better to watch these players perform on the court with the same excitement and determination that was on display to try and get the better of the other on social media.
