Prajakta Sawant and Arathi Sara Sunil win women’s doubles at Bangladesh Open

Indian doubles pairing of Prajakta Sawant and Arathi Sara Sunil won the Bangladesh Open International Badminton Challenge 2013 in Dhaka. In an all-Indian final, Prajakta and Arathi defeated compatriots Dhanya Nair and Mohita Sahdev 22-20, 15-4 to take the title.

Another Indian, Saili Rane, came close to winning a title, finishing runner-up in the women’s singles department as she lost to Chinese Taipei’s Pai Hsiao Ma in the final 10-21, 13-21. Saili was in fact looking forward to winning the title and the Mumbai girl, who is a keen follower of Saina Nehwal, gave it her best shot, but ultimately fell short.
