We are into Day 11 of the 2016 Rio Olympics and India are still in search of that elusive medal. With several major names out of the fray, we are now banking on the last few contenders, particularly from the wrestling contingent.
Hardeep Singh will be in action on Tuesday in his Men’s Greco-Roman match against Cenk Ildem in his Round of 16 match and will hope to progress into the latter stages of the competition.
A lot now depends on the wrestling contingent if India are to win a medal in Rio 2016 and we have an interesting few days coming up.
PV Sindhu, meanwhile, put up a fabulous performance yesterday against Tzu Ying Tai in the Round of 16, booking her safe passage to the quarterfinals. However, she faces a very tough task in the last 8, going up against World No. 2 Wang Yihan of China – who is also the reigning Olympic silver medallist.
