Saina Nehwal off to a wining start at the Australian Open

Saina Nehwal got her Australian Open title defence off to a perfect start on Thursday, after defeating Cheah Lyddia Yi Yu of Malaysia 21-12 21-10 in her first round match on Thursday.
The 25-year-old, who climbed to the top of the world rankings last week, won 9 points on the trot in the opening game as compared to her opponent's 4 and also converted the lone game point opportunity that she secured to take the first game 21-12.
The second game followed a similar pattern to the first as the Indian won 7 points on the trot and converted the 2 game point opportunity that came her way to record a comfortable straight games victory and move into the second round of the tournament.
