Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Saina Nehwal biopic in fear of being called off?
While there were reports suggesting that Shraddha Kapoor was struggling with badminton lessons, those have been ruled out.
What's the story?
After a lot of speculation, the biopic on the life of ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal has reportedly been indefinitely postponed. There have also been talks about the project not seeing the light of day at all.
In case you didn't know...
The Shraddha Kapoor-starrer biopic was going to be directed by Amol Gupte while the production was being handled by Bhushan Kumar.
The shooting was yet to start with Shraddha taking badminton lessons before the start of shoot from chief national coach Pullela Gopichand and Saina Nehwal herself.
The heart of the matter
In April 2017, Shraddha confirmed that she would be playing the role of Saina in the movie being made on her illustrious career. Since then, a lot of posts on Instagram have shown the preparations are underway for the biopic.
There were several questions raised that whether Shraddha's inability to learn badminton is causing the film to delay but such allegations have been denied by people working for the film.
According to several reports last month, the film was going to be shot in February or March but now, the film is surrounded by an air of uncertainty.
There is no confirmation on the duration of delay as it can vary from a month to even a year with the exact reason also not known.
Shraddha is working on her next film Saaho starring Prabhas at the moment as her last movie Haseena Parkar, also a biopic failed to fare well on the box office and wasn't praised by critics collectively.
Saina is the only Indian to become No.1 in the BWF rankings and has popularized the sport immensely in the country with her achievements.
She certainly deserves a biopic made on her career and we just hope, it comes sooner or later. Shraddha Kapoor is just the perfect candidate for the role as both of them even have resembling looks.
