SPORTINDIA Junior Badminton Open - Jan 2019

About the event:

SportIndia's second event for the year 2019 and the month had been concluded -- their Junior Badminton Open for the month for Boys and Girls category under 9,11,13 & 15. It was scheduled on 12th Jan at NVBA Smashbounce, Valasaravakkam.

Around 150 students participated with 40+ players enrolled in each category in which 20+ academies were involved. The tournament had a good reach with active and vibrant participants. The match was followed by a league format in order to provide match exposure to the kids and to exhibit the player's training practice.

Points System:

Boys & Girls Singles U9, U11, U13, U15 - Round Robin(Minimum 2 Matches) & Knockout. Points System: Round Robin- 1 Set & 15 Points, Knockout- 1 set & 21 points, Final - Best of 3 Games(15 Points each Game)

• Boys Under 11 - Farhaan ( 7 Sports ) Beat Jai Pramod ( EC Sports )
• Boys Under 13 - Aadesh Beat Santhosh Kumar ( Skylap )
• Boys Under 15 - Dharun ( Rohan ) Beat Abinash ( Skylap )

Winners of the Girls Category:

• Girls Under 9 - Devishi ( Acers ) Beat Dhiya ( Sunshine )
• Girls Under 11 - Ananya Beat Swathi
• Girls Under 13 - Ananya Beat Tharunika ( ASR )
• Girls Under 15 - Ashmitha ( Roshan ) Beat Rithika

Followed by the semi-finalist and quarter-finalist of each category.
