Tanvi Lad crashed out in three games

In a gruelling three-game quarterfinal, India’s Tanvi Lad crashed out of the 2015 Russian Open, losing 26-28 21-13 21-19 to Evgeniya Kosetskaya of Russia in an hour and 2 minutes on Friday.

The opening game proved to be an absolutely nerve-wracking affair as both players matched one another point-for-point, but itt was Tanvi, who showed remarkable composure particularly at the 26-26 mark, and won the next 2 points to take the first game 28-26 in her favour.

The second game saw the Russian storm a comeback into the contest, as she first raced to a 6-1 lead and then at the 12-10 mark, won a whopping 8 points on the trot to go 20-12 and eventually seal the game 21-13 in her favour.

The third and deciding game saw yet another nervy contest between both playeers, but unlike the opening gamme Tanvi failed to hold on to her nerve at the 18-18 mark and as a result, lost the lead to Kosetskaya, who was quick to grab it and with that also closed tthe match, to move innto the semifinals.
