Lin Dan, China:“It is great for me to be back on court again. So many fans are eager to see Lin Dan playing again. A lot of them came all this way because they want to show me their support and that gives me a lot of encouragement.”
Lin Dan, China:“From 2010 to 2012 the Chinese badminton team achieved amazing results. So all the domestic media and fans want us to win all five titles again. But I would hope the fans are sensible. We are not strong enough to win every title every time. We are playing at home this time, so all our players will do their best to win. The World Championships is a very special tournament.”
Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia:“I will just play my match against Wang Zhengming. He is on home soil, but I will just focus on playing better than I did today. I will play for my fans in Guangzhou, as well as the rest of the world. I will gradually deteriorate, so I hope I can enjoy the last few years of my badminton career as much as possible.”
Chen Long, China:“I made too many unnecessary errors today. Even in the second game, I gave my opponent four or five easy points. I think I have a a lot to learn from this match.”
