Video: Pullela Gopichand, Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu playing together in training

A few months back, Saina Nehwal had started training under Pullela Gopichand at the Gopichand Academy exactly three years after parting ways with the Dronacharya award-winning coach.

Now, a video of a training exercise featuring Saina, PV Sindhu, Gopichand and Gurusai Dutt has emerged. In the video, we can see Sindhu teaming up with Gopichand and taking on Saina and Dutt.

From the serve, Sindhu sends the shuttle long. Saina lets it fall for Dutt, who lobs it towards Gopichand. The former All England Open Badminton champion does not hesitate for once as he hits a powerful smash but Dutt is able to block it and keep the play going.

After a couple of rallies, Sindhu gets the opportunity to send in a smash but Dutta is able to deal with it again. Gopichand jumps forward and plays a drop shot. What follows after this is a crazy training exercise.

Immediately after playing the drop shot, Gopichand hits a shuttle, which was until then lying on the floor, across the ground towards Saina. While Sindhu goes on hammering in smashes at Saina’s partner, the former World No. 1 and Gopichand are busy exchanging rallies across the ground.

Eventually, Sindhu manages to outfox Saina. The Olympic silver medallist hits the shuttle across the ground. Just as Saina kneels down to send it back, Sindhu gently hits the air-borne shuttle towards her. Saina is preoccupied with her ground work and she doesn’t see it coming.

Kidambi Srikanth, who was watching on from the sidelines, is seen breaking out in a fit of laughter just as the video ends.
