World Badminton Rankings: K Srikanth jumps 13 spots

India’s upcoming shuttler K Srikanth jumped thirteen places to be at 69th in the latest World Badminton Federation (WBF) rankings.

Srikanth has been in a rich vein of form in recent times, and also reached the quarterfinals of the ongoing Syed Modi International Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament, where he even upstaged fourth seeded fellow countryman Ajay Jayaram in the pre-quarterfinals.

Srikanth was hovering outside the top-100 in world rankings and has surged more than 40 spots in the last few weeks.

Among the other Indian men, Ajay Jayaram and Sourabh Varma continue to cling on to their last week’s ranking of 34.

Meanwhile, RMV Gurusaidutt also advanced four spots to be placed 39th, while Anand Pawar advanced two places to be at 50th. B Sai Praneeth climbed eight spots to be placed 58th.

HS Pranoy dropped one spot to 93rd, while Arvind Bhat slumped fourteen places to be at 102nd.

Anup Sridhar slipped three spots to be ranked 109th, while Chetan Anand moved up nine places to be ranked 125th.

Among the other Indian women, PC Thulasi climbed twelve places after recently winning the Tata Open, to be placed 95th. Neha Pandit fell three spots to be ranked 101th, while Arundhati Pantawane slipped seven places to be ranked 109th.

Tanvi Lad dropped one spot to be at 113th.

As has been the trend over the past few weeks, Saina Nehwal retains her world number three ranking, while PV Sindhu fell one spot to be ranked 24th.
