Yonex Dutch Open 2013: Day 2 results

Mixed doubles first round results:

The Dutch pair of Jelle Maas and Iris Tabeling entered the second round of the mixed doubles by defeating the duo of Ari Trisnanto (Germany) and Meisy Jolly (Indonesia) 21-18, 21-23 and 21-13 in their first round encounter.

Another Dutch pair of Ruben Jille and Alida Chen defeated Ruben Wijnands and Dorien Lups by 21-9, 18-21 and 21-13 to enter the second round.

On the other side, the Singaporean duo of Bawa Chrisnanta and Vanessa Neo defeated the pair of Jacco Arends and Selena Piek by 21-10 and 21-19.

The other pairs to face defeat in the first round were the duo of Lisa Malaihollo (Netherlands) and Virgil Soeroredjo (Suriname), and Nico Hermans and Cheryl Seinen.

Men’s singles first round results:

Sweden’s Uhldall Gabriel defeated defending champion Eric Pang from Netherlands in a first round upset. Despite winning the first game, Pang, 31, lost to Uhldaal 21-14, 14-21 and 10-21.

Dutch player Erik Meijs entered the second round by defeating Slovak smasher Matej Polacek 21-5 and 21-4.

Vincent de Vries also advanced to the next round by defeating Georgios Charalambidis from Greece 21-8 and 21-9.

Jordy Hilbink defeated the Russian shuttler Maxim Muzhevlev 21-4 and 21-8, while Alex Vlaar lost to Indonesian smasher Kaizar Alexander 14-21, 21-19 and 13-21.

It was a good day for the Malaysians on court as Zulfadli Zulfikkli defeated Nick Frenchman 21-16, 7-21 and 8-21 while Cook Living Hong registered victory over Marco de Jager by 21-9 and 21-12.

Yuhan Tan from Belgium also won his match against Justin Teeuwen by 21-10 and 21-19.
