Angel Reese and the LSU women's team are fresh off winning the NCAA championship game against Iowa 102-85 on Sunday. Along with there being controversy regarding what happened in the game, new events continue to add on.

When a team in any high-level American sports league wins a championship, they typically receive an invite to the White House to meet the president. LSU has received that invite, but First Lady Jill Biden also suggested that Iowa should make the trip as well. It's worth noting that no runner-up has ever been invited in the past.

Seeing that it's never happened before, Angel Reese took to Twitter to voice her opinion. She posted a tweet calling it a joke, which was later deleted.

Angel Reese has right to be mad at Jill Biden invitation

It might seem like something small, but Angel Reese and the rest of the LSU women's team have a right to be angry about this. Never before has a team that lost in the title game got to come with the team that beat them.

Getting an invitation to the White House is special and is earned by winning a championship. LSU put in the work all season and took care of business in the title game, and their reward is possibly having to share the stage with the team they beat.

Another factor that makes this uncomfortable is all the headlines regarding the game. During LSU's blowout victory, Reese taunted Iowa star Caitlin Clark. She was instantly bashed on social media for her actions in the blowout victory. Some in the NBA spoke out in her defense, while others took the time to point out the bigger undertones in the matter.

Iowa also had a phenomenal season, but the Hawkeyes didn't get the job done on the biggest stage. Because of that, they shouldn't get an invitation alongside LSU to come to the White House. If they do, then the rest of the runner-ups should also speak up and try to get one as well.

If Iowa gets invited by President Joe Biden, it will be interesting to see how LSU will respond. The Tigers could decline if they have to share their time with the team they beat.
