Team XSpark and Medal fail to qualify for BGIS 2024 from The Grind

Two experienced BGMI squads Team XSpark and Medal Esports faltered in the recently concluded The Grind event. Both clubs could not finish in the top 64 of the overall scoreboard, making them fail to reach the BGIS 2024 from this event. A total of 255 teams were invited directly to participate in The Grind, which ran from April 4 to 28.

Revenant, Forever, and Team Soul were the three top squads in the event. GodLike and Global Esports also had commendable performances and claimed spots in the top 16. Many other popular clubs like Carnival, Team Tamilas, and 8Bit, struggled but somehow earned a place in the top 64 of the overall points table.


Team XSpark and Medal Esports face challenges in The Grind 2024

Team XSpark collected 44 points in their six matches and landed in the 72nd position. The Shadow-led roster had a below average start as they accumulated 24 points in their first three matches. The lineup then failed to make a comeback in their last three games and claimed only 20 points.

Team XSpark added BGMI pro NinjaJod and rising talent Shadow to their lineup earlier this year. Despite featuring top-tier players, the organization didn't make it into the top 64.

Medal Esports, led by BGMI veteran Paradox, ranked 84th in the Grind with 41 points, including 27 points. They claimed 21 points in their first three encounters. However, they couldn't improve their results in their last three matches as they gained only 20 points there.

Medal Esports recently added Darklord to their BGMI squad and also resigned start player Kyoya. The experienced lineup was inconsistent throughout their six games in the Grind.

Apart from these two teams, many well-known underdog squads faced tough challenges and failed to claim a spot in the top 64. Team CannonBoltz was disqualified from the competition for using third-party software in the event.

The BGIS 2024 is now all set to commence on May 2. The teams that have been chosen from the In-Game Qualifiers, will contest in Round 1. The top 16 teams from the Grind will be featured in Round 4. While the 17th to 32nd will play in Round 3. The 33nd to 64th teams will compete in Round 2 of the competition.
